And I understand how you feel because I’ve been there too.

Prior to completing my medical training, I suffered for years with undiagnosed Lyme Disease and experienced all of the anguish, pain, and worry associated with it.

The constellation of symptoms that women with Lyme disease may present with can be confusing and are often misdiagnosed.

Women with Lyme disease are uniquely different and have a different set of distinctive considerations and needs.

I’m Dr. Jaquel Patterson, nationally recognized naturopathic physician, immediate Past President of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Founder of Naturalmins, Best-Selling Author, and Forbes contributor. I run a multi-disciplinary medical practice in Fairfield, CT specializing in Lyme disease and other autoimmune disorders.

In 2007, – while completing my naturopathic medical program at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, – I began having very odd symptoms, including chronic fatigue, migratory joint pain, insomnia, and excessive sweating. I would find myself sweat-drenched on the right side of my body and needing several naps each day.

At that time, I remember going to the university health clinic initially to seek help followed by three other physicians. There was not a concerned response by my healthcare provider(s), as physical examination and testing were inconclusive.

It was assumed that my excessive sweating was due to anxiety rather than a physical origin. It wasn’t until later in time that lab test results performed on my blood revealed those mysterious symptoms were likely due to a combination of Lyme Disease, Lyme disease and Babesia (with later blood testing revealing Bartonella, as well).

Because of my intensive training and patient care experience as a Naturopathic Doctor combined with my own personal history and struggle with acquiring a correct diagnosis and effective treatment plan, I am passionate about using the medical tools and strategies necessary to determine the correct diagnosis, along with a plan of action toward helping patients conquer Lyme disease.

“Dr. Jaquel Patterson actually changed my life. I went to her after being diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 32 from the steroids that I was taking for myasthenia gravis. She gave me natural supplements, taught me about the anti-inflammatory diet and opened my eyes to natural healing. As a result of Dr. Jaquel’s help, I have fully healed since then and have been drug free for almost 4 years. I have since become a certified holistic health coach and now I help women to heal through diet & other lifestyle factors. None of that would have happened if it hadn’t been for Doctor Jaquel. Because everything that she was recommending was new to me, I had a lot of questions. There was one supplement that I didn’t want to take and she told me that if I didn’t think that it would work, it probably wouldn’t. She worked to find something that would work and that I was comfortable with. She’s very personable as well. I love her and would HIGHLY recommend that anyone see her. She takes a holistic approach and LISTENS to her patients!”
